The church of Jesus is rebuilding the walls of the church as Nehemiah did. Fortifying the gates. The media is the modern false prophets of Baal and we are to call down fire on those ungodly lies.
There’s no virtue in poverty for poverty’s sake. Yet our focus should not be on things. Learn to be content with what you have. Joy does not come from things but from the Lord.
God doesn’t look at our past, but at our future. Renaming the apostles, He called that into fruition by His word. Levi became Matthew (gift from God). As a tax collector, he was focused on material possessions. He should have seen and heard of Jesus before he was called.
What an amazing story! At the words “follow me”, Matthew left everything: his livelihood, his money, his possessions, EVERYTHING. He burned the bridges of his past life and accepted a new life. He feasted with Jesus in thankfulness.
The Pharisees are always around at great healings and great events, questioning, condemning, and otherwise drawing people away from the Lord and His great works and wonders. They try to rob the joy of the Lord from people. Doing this is a direct attack on Jesus and His mission.
Luke 5:32 – “I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners, to repentance.” He know what we will become when redeemed in His righteousness and we grow..
